When you are talking about CSF Mainframe ... what means CSF?

Please excuse my ignorance!

What mainframe? Can you give any context or references?

I know of a "COBOL Structuring Facility" that used to be an available tool for
IBM mainframe COBOL programmers.

However, there are probably HUNDREDS of other meanings for "CSF" in other
environments and situations.

This is the situation.
A job offer advertised on monster.co.uk:
A CSF Mainframe Developer is required asap for a large financial
services group. Candidates MUST have CSF experience. Additional skills
required are Cobol, JCL and Easytrieve. Work visas can be arranged but
candidates must have at least 1 years experience of CSF. Our clients
will also wait for notice periods.

Any chance this might be a typo for "CSP"?

Given the Easytrieve and JCL references, I am GUESSING an IBM mainframe
environment. And the (now out-of-date) CSP "COBOL code generator" was in common
usage in sites with Easytrieve.

However, that is JUST a guess - and someone may know of a "CSF" product that
would be required.

I ask because I want to know what is CSF, not to put in evidence my
nonexistent experience in CSF.

Thanks for clarifications.

Kind regards,
Tiberiu.

Sounds like someone's been ruled out, I'd say.

CSF stands for Computer Solutions and Finance Plc, a consultancy that is a
rising star for financial enterprises.

The have a good relationship with IBM, and their software is deployable
across mainframes and Client/Server.

I've never worked with them personally, but I hear they do a good job.

corrective service facility
Common Situation Format
Controller Services Feature

There is also a company called CSF.
